Administered by the Maine State Library, Talking Books is a Federally-funded program that provides recorded books and special players free to eligible persons. In this webinar, the presenter explains how Talking Books works, including how to register, access equipment, and obtain books. The Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) service throught the Maine State Library, which allows patrons to download books directly from the Internet, was also presented.

During this webinar there is reference to the viewing of a DVD entitled "AIMing for Achievement" produced in 2010 by the National Center on Accessible Instructional Materials. Copies of this DVD were distributed to the special education directors in each school district in Maine in spring 2011. Please contact your special education department to acquire that DVD.
